God Wants To Talk To You About Some Stuff

Have you ever thought about how your prayer life might change if you stopped putting it on a to-do list to check off every morning, or only going to God when something seems out of control, and instead started keeping the prayer conversation going on all day with God instead?

My Proverbs 31 devotion today   talks about that concept, and how my daughter’s passing comment about texting habits caused me to think about what it would be like if I just continually talked to God all day long, like she does her friends.  I admit it’s not easy – especially when the day gets busy and our minds are pulled in a million different directions. But wouldn’t it be cool if we could start a habit of doing that today?

My friend Glynnis’s P31 devotion yesterday was on prayer also (as all our devotions will be this week) and I loved everything she said about remembering that there are no prayers too big, or too small, for God to hear or act on. There were a few statements she made in her message that really jumped at me:

~Why do I accept so many situations and never think about praying for them to change?
~ No matter how hopeless the situation seems, God is more than able to step in and do what no human can do.
~ I want to bring everything to my Heavenly Father, every care, every need. Not with a demanding heart, but with one with positive expectation.

Everything – means everything. Every care and every need.  And we can bring them to Him with positive expectation.   I loved how she reminded us of that important truth.

Aside from having an open ear for prayer requests, God also wants us to simply talk with Him. To chat about what we have going on each day and seek His guidance and direction for upcoming decisions. To share the concerns on our hearts for our children and spouses, our jobs and our futures, and even the little details of life.

God simply wants us to talk with Him about stuff. Just the stuff of life. And we can do that all day long if we so choose. Just like a good friend who we would pick up the phone and call or text whenever we felt like it, He wants to be there for us too.

Prayer for my children to get in the Word out of their own desire and not me telling them. My son on his own told me a couple of weeks ago that he started reading daily and is doing the one year Bible because he wants to be ready when he goes to college next fall to be stronger in his faith! Woohoo God! Thank u!

After loosing my job and my husband being hurt on the job, things were a little scary. Also, my daughter became pregnant and lost her dance scholarship didn’t help either. This left us having to pay out of pocket for school or applying for aid which we didn’t want but God opened up a door through prayer and my daughter received the denied pale grant which was a blessing . Praise God!

I start and end my day with Gods word. Although it took me 49 years to get there, I’m happy to say that I finally did, thanks to my hubby’s help. My daughter was saved a couple months after me and we were baptised together. I pray for my son every day to accept Christ , I bought him a bible & I pray that he reads it. He’s told me he’s read it some and texted me the other day that he read some verses last night…”not a bad read” he said. That thrills me, Ill keep praying. I also got my 86 yr old mom to start reading the bible…..at 86 years old. praying for her salvation as well.

Thank you for this message today, it’s just what I needed to hear as I do the morning/night prayers but miss the all-day conversation!

I prayed for years that my husband would have a desire to be a disciple for Jesus and help others to find and follow Jesus. This is our motto at our church. I prayed without ceasing over my husband and now we are both together serving as leaders at a prison campus every weekend.

Prayer is so important. I have a Martha personality. I do and serve. I have a prodigal son who I can’t do and serve right now. The only thing I can do is pray! It helps me to lay it all at God’s feet trusting Him for his perfect plan!

God has answered so many prayers for us on a daily basis but one of the most recent ones having a big impact on our life was how He opened the doors for us to get a different vehicle for my husband- it was badly needed and God never fails. We are so thankful for our Blessings…

about 7 years ago i came home from work, with my 2 year old son, to find my husband passed out on the bed in our room. My daughters (11 & 9) had called me a few times telling me that he was acting strangely. I dismissed their calls as him being him. Lucky for me I am trained in CRP and First Aid (I worked in Child Care). Long story short- he was going into a diabetic coma. (yes he knew he was diabetic, no he was not taking care of himself) He was in the hospital and then a rehab center, the whole thing was 9 months out of his life and ours. Hospital visits and doctor visits. I had prayed that he would get better, he did. I had to quit my job and demote myself and take a pay cut so I could be home when my girls got home. The “new” job was not going well. I prayed that things would work out for us financially, so far it has It seems like just when I think that we are out of money, something else goes wrong and we need to replace or fix something; but then out of no where we have the money or it fixes it self. We have been doing this for almost 7 years. the job I took- I quit 8 months after I started and was jobless for 6 months before I started my own business. We still are struggling, but some how we have not lost our home and can still put food on the table. So God has been coming through for us. Thank you.

My prayer request is for my Husband — that He begin to draw closer to the Lord and become not only the man God wants him to be but the Spiritual Leader of our home.

I was diagnosed with a rare pancreatic tumor in October of last year, that had some malignant cells. Praise God that the were able to remove the tumor, save most of my pancreas and I didn’t have to do chemotherapy! !! Trust me, all of this was answers to lots of prayers! 🙂

Prayer is my time of comfort. I can/do say things to God that of course He already knows, but that I wouldn’t say out loud to people. He doesn’t judge, but listens and provides answers to questions, ambivalence or challenges I’m facing at the time.

Thank you for encouraging us to continually pray! I have been praying for over 3 years now for a specific job field to work out for my husband (he went back to school to get a second degree for this field, and he has a real passion for it). Just a few months ago, God not only opened one door but several doors in this field! I can see now that God has been building our character and faith during this time, and I am so thankful for that!

God answers my prayers in small ways every day. When I pray that He will grant me patience with my 10 year old, who has a new found propensity for asserting his independence and opinions, our God provides me with opportunities to practice His patience and grow my child. When I pray that He will be with me as I go for a mammogram call back and ultrasound, He is right there keeping me company as the doctor says, “It’s just a cyst.” He brought me on the survivor’s side of kidney cancer, and He uses me everyday to spread His love and gentleness. His answers don’t always fall in line with my human desires, but his answers are always perfect. How I have longed for Him to answer with a resounding, “Yes!” when I have asked to be a stay at home mom. Instead He answers, “I need you to teach and make My impact on my children.” Indeed, He is there answering what I call the smalls and the big’ins. Our God is an awesome God. We need only love Him, listen, and follow.

I recently interviewed for a job that was closer to home and would cut my commute time by more than half, but I was uncertain whether it would be the right job for me or not. I asked God for clarity and guidance and His answer made it very easy to decide which path to take.

Good morning, this has really helped me today. Sometimes I feel bad that I don’t have that designated time in the morning to pray. But I do talk to GOD all day long and in doing that I also pray. It’s good to know that others do this and it’s okay. Thank you for sharing.

Prayer is my immediate lifeline to sanity in an insane world

  17. Sarah on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 7:55 am

I like to pray out loud when I walk on my treadmill. Usually I start with requests, then I talk about what’s coming up in my schedule for the next day or week. I’m not asking God anything then, just talking with him. As I do so, more opportunities to pray arise. I pray for opportunities to be kind or patient, or I remember someone else at church or work who needs prayer. An added benefit–this prayer/talk time makes exercise more enjoyable!

My husband is addicted to pornography. This mostly happens at work. I prayed for a while for him to get help protecting his computer to make it harder for him to look which would feed his addiction. Months after I had been praying about this and giving it to God, he realized (and idea from God!) that with the Safe Eyes subscription we bought for our home computer he could put it on his work computer for free. Thank you Jesus!

Such a timely post. I have been trying to do this, with varying degrees of success, but I have found that on the days I am having an ongoing conversation with God, I am much more peaceful. Thanks for the reminder! Great post!

A couple years ago my daughter got paired with another camp counselor that didn’t go so well. This week, she was again paired with this same girl. We prayed that there would be a mutual respect and that things would go well this week. Praise the Lord, she reported that it was fantastic!

The Lord is so good and has answered so many of my prayers. Write now my hearts prayer is for my friend who found out her husband had an affair. I know God can bring healing to their marriage.

  22. Michele on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 8:13 am

Oh, how we sometimes forget to keep our prayers going throughout the day! I’ll be more cognizant of that now because of your post this morning. I am struggling with some old family hurts that keep rearing their ugly head, but doing ” The Mended Heart” online study has really helped, and I see God starting to chip away at those old ” layers.” I am starting to let go, and know that my life is not dependent on someone else’s view of me- or on my weight ( which is a huge deal in my mostly thin family).

  23. Joy on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 8:14 am

Yesterday I needed to watch my 2 grandkids in the afternoon. They are 4 and 2. The little 2 year old guy is a real go-getter. I felt so tired and worn out yesterday morning and just didn’t see how I was going to do it. I prayed for God to not only give me the strength, but to actually have a good afternoon with the kids. He answered my prayer and we did have a really good day together. I know it was an answer to prayer. Believe me, I was ready for bed last night though!

  24. MaryAnn on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 8:19 am

God lets me see occasionally that he is still in control and still answers prayers. I recently had a very powerful prayer answered for our school district. A program “Worth Waiting 4” will be introduced to our middle and high school students next fall, 2015. This was something that many people were praying for and God’s hand was in…..we have an amazing God and his ways are much higher that ours. Praise God!

  25. Kathleen on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 8:20 am

Yes! All day long …not a just a protracted specific time of day that may not always work out in life. Our family is in such need of healing and sometimes all I can do is say, “Lord, help!”

    • Kathy on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 12:17 pm

My heart resonated with yours about your family needing healing. I, too, have a need for healing in my family. I feel God wants me to write a letter to my estranged sister about how much I desire her love and long for us to communicate. She is a Christian but was resentful of how I helped in cleaning out our mom’s home. She has also cut off any response to my other sister. May God give us wisdom in our situations. To this end, we need to pray daily for their heart to be open and softened by God’s love. My name is also Kathleen and thus it made me realize how much we have in common.

    Prayer:
Lord please guide my family and I through this storm we are in. Father you know all that we are going through and we are praying that you will pull us through it. It says in the Bible that all things are possible through you, Father you know how terrified I am and where I am at in my mind, Lord I need you

Just yesterday after the devotion on there is no big and small prayers. I decided to pray for my husband who was planning on joining a social club which I particularly was not happy about. Though the club required some huge financial commitment. This morning he woke up to tell me he has been having second thoughts on the club, and he is now going to use the money involved to go back to school for a master degrees programme.
I never knew God could answer so soon.

  28. Jenny on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 8:30 am

This may not be a “huge” thing to some but for us it’s big we just got back from a Family Mission Trip and during the trip we had to spend money of course after God provided our funds to go we just had the normal stuff that comes up. But our daughters big 10th birthday is in a few weeks and we didn’t know if we would have the money for her gift (she wants an American Girl doll and it’s been her one items she’s wanted for months). But yesterday I sat down to pay bills since we just got home Sunday and I kid you not there is money sitting in our savings still which we did not think would be there. I just fell to my knees praising God because we had been earnestly praying for God to provide not only the money for our daughter’s gift but also our bills since my husband will have 2 weeks of no overtime that we need. God just blew us out of the water!! But he does that often

I often think how will we get through this?? It is truly amazing, just calling out for Jesus, often, how this calms our worries, anxious thoughts, etc. So thankful we have God to give up our worries to. Blessed beyond anything we could ever imagine. Thank you for your post today…..a wonderful reminder.

  32. Cassie on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 8:37 am

So thankful for this reminder today! My prayer life has not been what it use to be and as I learn to get over this hump, I’m relearning as I bring my kids into this constant conversation and it has been wonderful, but it’s a constant effort and I know they are learning the importance too! The longest I prayed for something was for my oldest sister and my family. For thirteen years she and her family were not a part of our family and it never felt right. Though it wasn’t about me, God used it to teach me this very concept and sometimes it was simply talking driving down the street and sometimes it was casting out the devil from my knees! He also taught me during this time to leave it to him, I can’t fix everything, but He will use everything for good, so I should always keep the faith bc I had no idea what He was doing in all our lives in the background! Now they are as much a part of this family as we all have always been! Like it’s never been any different! This is my encouragement as I pray for my husband and our family! Thanks for the reminder!

My 22 year old son has been driving an unsafe vehicle to work for the past few months. The condition of the vehicle is getting worse. We have not intervened a lot because he is six hours away and we also want him to learn responsibility of taking care of the vehicle. We have volunteered to pay for it being fixed but he has not taken it into the shop. I pray for his safety on this 15 minute, interstate commute everyday. Well, the vehicle has gotten so bad that I prayed that it just wouldn’t start and he would not be able to leave his driveway. Well, the car is no longer drivable and I praise God! I no longer have to wonder if he is broke down on the highway. God does answer even the simplest prayers!

I’ve been praying for God’s guidance for many months now, as I decide to continue or quit college. I’m 28 and have been in college since I graduated high school, taking only a two year break. I am definitely burned out, but God has answered my prayers and I have decided to continue, but focusing more time of prayer with Him throughout my day.

This experience has definitely refreshed and rejuvenated my spirit and heart! Thanks so much for your work. I think we can all agree that God has blessed you with a gift, and He’s very proud of you for sharing with all of His children.

  37. Linda on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 8:56 am

I have read the comments from each of these dear sisters and I know God can answer their prayers. But I do not always know that He can answer mine. I was laid off from my job as a Reading Specialist and Educational Diagnostician five weeks ago. The job was stressful and involved an hour commute each way and my vision is affected by kerataconus. But I am the financial support of a disabled husband and a son with AS, so I felt I needed the job. It is difficult to find a teaching position, and I am a baby boomer with a graduate degree and a post-graduate degree. But God has always been faithful to us–when I have truly sought Him–so I am trying not to stress about it all. Stressing is my nature. I am so thankful for these daily devotions!

I never learned “how to pray” and have major “trust issues” with God. But I am willing to try so I prayed that he would help me hear him and to know that he sees me. Well, it was answered by a dream that put everything together and evoked such an emotional response that I now believe that my prayers are being heard and if I trust in the Lord, his plan will be revealed to me.

  41. Shirley on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 9:07 am

Thank you for the prayer booklet. I have printed it out for my Bible Study class. We started this class over a year ago as a beginner class and we are now studying the book of Ephesians. We begin each week with prayer and praise reports. I began writing the prayers of each person in the book (we have filled several books now) and as each prayer was answered I would go back and place the date that God answered the prayers. Most prayers have been answered and each week someone is excited to tell the class how God has answered their prayer. It has strengthened each one’s prayer life and opened the door to God’s love and faith for those who have been uncertain that God even hears them.
My favorite scriptures in regards to prayer and faith are of the woman who bled and the Centurion who knew God didn’t need to go to his home to heal his servant, that the words could be spoken where He was. God will meet us anywhere. Thank you for today’s devotion and may God continue to use you in a mighty way.

I live alone with my most precious dog that the Good Lord has allowed me to have and take care of and to love and a cat (I am allergic but she is sweet and Gods creature too 🙂 I do love her and she is on her last few years of life), I don’t get to see my glorious grandkids like I use to nor my son which I truly love with all my heart, these have been my whole live for so long and thru some situations that I will not go into here it has been very difficult to just get thru the days, many days I did not think I would make it or even wanted to. If it were not for my continued talks with God and his love and comforting arms there 24/7 I do not think I could make it through the days. I am a Christian and I do know that God loves me but I need to talk to him through out my days to keep me growing and learning and helping me to see that joy and happiness will return to me one day. I actually only know how to pray, by keeping the communication open 24/7, at home, at work, driving, laughing, crying, I do not know a time that I don’t need him or need to know that he is right by my side and in my heart. I try so hard to let my grandkids know he is there for them too, every time I see them I tell them to talk to him and he will guide them and he is working in their life I know, as they call me wanting to go to church with me and that makes me so happy and I know that is the Good Lord in their hearts. God Bless you and have a wonderful day.

I love this post and love talking to God all the time. I find myself just talking to him like I would if someone were in front of me having a conversation. The more I do it, the more I crave to do it..more and more. He answers prayers in small ways for us all the time. He tends to stretch our money and see us through hard times that seem one after the other. I pray for patience with my children nearly daily because I am so easily overwhelmed and it seems like when I pray more and more about it, the better my children seem to act!!! Thank you Lord for your mercy and grace!

My husband & I had been praying for a baby for 6 years and it seemed to me that God was simply saying “No”. We had seen doctors and gone through procedures to no avail. I tried to convince myself that I was ok with “God’s plan”. And then one day my pastor’s wife had a post on FB that the Lord used to open my eyes to his real plan. She talked about what would’ve happened if the barren women of the Bible had just accepted their fate of being barren. Oh how that would have changed things! So I decided to finally let go and trust God with my Big Prayer. The woman of the Bible that knew that she would be healed if she could only just touch the hem of His robe was my inspiration. And you know what happened? My God took my Big Prayer & showed me that to him nothing is too big. We now enjoy the company of a sweet, beautiful 13 month old little boy named Aayden! Everyday I am blessed with the love & kisses of God’s miracle working power!

I work with a non-profit that combats Human Trafficking and this past Saturday we had a HUGE event where we taught “At Risk” young girls about Human Trafficking, Empowerment and Value. Anyway, Friday morning I woke up feeling like I had been hit by a mack 10 truck! I was lying in bed thinking, “This can’t be happening!” I had been working non stop for weeks preparing for this event and the day before I was sick! I just laid in bed for about 10 minutes praying, asking God to heal me, explaining that I just couldn’t be sick (lol) and to please heal me. Afterwards I got out of bed, went through my morning routine and was fine. I was feeling completely like my normal self by lunchtime! I was so excited and encouraged in the Lord. Saturday came and went and the event was a huge success, the enemy did not win, the Lord prevailed and lives were changed. God is good! All the time 🙂

Within the past year I have been praying more and more. I pray that my friends know that I truly do care for them and even though they are distant from me, I am still here for them.

  54. Kami on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 9:39 am

I love the idea of a non stop conversation with God. I have been practicing praying thought the day, and it makes a world of difference. My five year old daughter was at the park the other day that had a very tall, dark slide. Other kids were going down and having a blast, but her fright was keeping her from trying it. I called her down and prayed with her. 15 minutes later she finally took a chance. She loved it. I asked her what made her choose to go down the slide. She said she prayed that God would make her less afraid of the dark. It was a beautiful moment as a mom and a reminder: God wants to be in on the big and the small.

  55. gail on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 9:42 am

I love the idea of continuous praying. I like talking to God as a good friend and telling him how thankful I am and what my concerns are, however, I wonder if God feels bothered by the silly worries I have each day. When you look at what really matters is our life after this one. I feel guilty when I ask for such petty requests. I should be spreading his word and trying to bring more people to Christ with all of the things happening in our world today. BTW I have your book and love it.

  56. Jenna on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 9:44 am

I needed this today! Just a little reminder to help myself get back on track and focus on God’s word. I also need to try to stress-less. I notice if I worry to much or try to do much I get flustered and over whelmed. Now I know I can just sit meditate and pray to God no matter where I am and have that unended open conversation with Him!

  57. Windy on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 9:45 am

I am happy for those who have had success with prayer. All of these comments are great and I am happy for all of the answered prayers.
For me though- I don’t know how to start again. I used to be an all day pray-er. But somewhere that dwindled and only happens some days. I don’t have serious meaningfull prayers anymore. I don’t know where to start and I hear that God will always listen but that He turns His back on some and says He never knew you… I think this includes me. I have disappointed God again and I’m falling into the same mistake still after 7 months of starting and stopping. I can’t pray when I am unable to stop myself from doing this and falling into that trap over and over again. Please pray for me that I can stop giving in to my emotions. I miss having the relationship I used to have with God.

    • Jaime on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10:01 am

Hi Windy I wanted to tell you first and foremost that I will pray for you. I have heard it said that our feelings will sometimes get in the way of our prayers, when we pray it’s important that we BELIEVE God is there listening. I’ve struggled with this too. When I make the same mistakes consistently and ask forgiveness sometimes I can’t help but wonder “does he still forgive me or is he fed up?” But he isn’t fed up with you. God knows our struggles and our salvation is not dependent upon our ability to get it right all the time, God knows that we can’t. Though you may not have gone and squandered your inheritance from your father lol you can always look to the parable of the prodigal son. Jesus said that God is like that father. When he saw his son coming down the road back home he didn’t turn him away or rebuke him, he saw his brokenness and had compassion on him. The father RAN to his son with open arms and Jesus said that God is like that with us! You have to believe that God is true and forgives you when you ask. I hope and pray the best for you!
      1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Last night I became an Ordained Elders wife in an very sacred ceremony. My heart is full of joy for I have been standing in the gap for my husband soon to be sixteen years on July 30. I count it a great honor to be in the fold of kingdom builders for the Lord. We have crossed a many barriers in this walk for Christ but well worth everyone of them. The struggle is over for us but I also know the trials will come because satan is forever on his post. I thank God for being God all by himself in saying that ” I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, no man can work” (John 9:4) KJV

  59. Jaime on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 9:49 am

my family moved almost a year ago to another state away from our close family and we have desperately wanted to make friends as we feel isolated here. Well when I pray for my children I pray for them to make Godly friends, and as I was praying it occurred to me that I could pray the same thing for myself! I don’t know why this never occurred to me before, but I began praying for my husband and I to make Godly friends. The next Sunday at church a woman with kids my age approached me and told me she’d like to visit and maybe consider holding a Bible study at our home to make it easier on us since we have three small children. I am so grateful for answered prayers! It’s hard being a stay at home mommy sometimes and i’m very excited for what God is doing in our lives!

  60. Kathie on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 9:51 am

I needed this very much as sometimes I feel like my prayers don’t get past the ceiling. I have had some issues lately that I know with all my heart that God was right there beside of me and encouraging me on. I really truly felt his presence. I struggle sometimes with hearing his voice. Then someone will come along and say or talk to me and I know that is God talking to me though that person. I look forward to getting this book and reading it and applying it to my life.

25 years ago after an abusive marriage I was in the midst of divorce. Things were bad and I tried to commit suicide. At that moment the Holy Spirit spoke to me and told me I was pregnant and that my baby boy was chosen and called. All this time, I have prayed for all my children to serve the Lord.
Sunday evening my son who has been going to church sporadically, received a Word and confirmation of that prophecy and was radically changed!!
    God answered my prayers!

I thank God everyday for his presence in my life. I have been through a terrible divorce, and became a single mother with 2 small kids, had to pay all the bills including the mortgage and child care, while working in a stressful environment. But God gave me the strength daily to get up and cope. I prayed for a new job closer to my kids school and God came thru. But most of all I prayed for God to remove the animosity and hate from my heart for my ex husband and forgive him… and God did. Praise God Almighty! A burden lifted! My experiences have drawn me closer to God and it is with joy and pleasure that I love listening and obeying God and His word. God continually guides me!

God is so good. He answers the big and little things in our life in such wonderful ways. I have a lot of big prayer requests but I am always amazed how he answers the seemingly small things in our life but that are big to us. He just answered a prayer I had about my group of girlfriends with the best answer ever, even more that I had prayed for. He is so GOOD!!

  69. Candice on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10:34 am

God answered my prayers by giving me the confidence and helping me reach the point of finally putting in my notice at a job that I’ve been unhappy at for almost a year. I am finally at the point of pursuing my true dream – teaching and coaching. I already have a part time job at a gym lined up, and will also be working with two great school districts near me while I get my certification. All of this would have been impossible on my own, and I finally let my guard down and allowed help from all avenues, most importantly God’s.

After 18 years of marriage, my husband and I hit a rough spot last year. I was not sure we would make it back to each other. For the last ten years both my kids and I had found God and became very involved in our church and developed very strong relationships with Jesus, unfortunately my husband had not. He said he felt alone and left out because he did not understand our relationship with God. He believed, he just wasn’t where we were in our Faith. After, a very tough year and even separating , he asked us to our now new church one evening where he went to the Alter and gave his life to Jesus! He is 100% changed and our family is stronger then ever! My kids and I never gave up, we prayed everyday for him and God always answers prayers! God is good, all you gotta do is ask!

  71. Heather Britain on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10:43 am

I have had several answered prayers. Some may seem small or insignificant to others, but in my eyes I know they all were a God thing!

I will share this one of many…

Being single at first was okay; however, the past few years has gotten hard for me. Sometimes I have settled for bad company so I could escape lonesomeness. (Yes I’ve made progress on this issue).

So awhile ago I prayed I’d have someone to spend the Holidays with because it’s tough spending them alone.

God has answered this prayer. It’s worked out the last two years that I’ve had someone to spend birthdays, Christmas, Memorial Days, 4th of July, etc. with and been in good company to boot!

And I have had moments of clarity and understanding with this answered prayer. The following statement comes into my consciousnesses after each experience: Aren’t you glad your not unequally yolked with the wrong companion or friends so you can fully enjoy these moments!

It’s definitely a God thing! Not only did I get an answered prayer, I got some wisdom that sank deep into my heart, mind, and soul and not just my head.

I love you God, thanks for not giving up on me!

  72. Lindsey Parker on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10:59 am

God answers my prayers for strength for each new day. I need God’s supernatural strength and the power of prayer in my ordinary life as a wife and mom. I can truly tell a positive difference when I have been in prayer and in the Word when it comes to my relationships with each person in my family.

  73. Evelyn Ramos on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 11:00 am

I’ve always believed that prayers changes things.
I’ve seen how God answered my prayers many times and also I’ve experienced many times when my prayers went unanswered,
But I know God has a reason and He is teaching me to be patient and to wait upon Him.
Prayers lift up my spirit everyday knowing that God is listening.
Prayers also make me not to worry anymore.
    Prayers makes me feel good.

  74. Nita on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 11:15 am

It’s amazing when we are in obedience and keeping The Lord first and intentionally chatting with him during the day how he shows up! Recently I was battling a day of immense anxiety over many small problems that were feeling like huge problems all at once. As the anxiety increased the more I prayed. By the end of the day I realized I had spoken to him all day long! Within 24-48 hours he answered and have plans for each of those small problems! It was such a sense of relief. And in the end I realized exactly what you are saying: what if I talked to him everyday like that and not just in the heat of battle day!!!
    Thanks so much!!!

I am always stressed with all of today’s busy schedules and demands from work and at home. I was so stressed I had would have panic attacks if I was late to something so I finally asked my doctor to prescribe something to help with my anxiety. I have been taking this for a lot of years and recently asked to be taken off the medicine. God has gave the peace and serenity to get through this. I know he will be my strong support base and I can get through the tough days without the medicine by relying on him and praying throughout the day. Thanks for your awesome read today. I really needed to hear that.

Thank you for sending something so dear to my heart. I talk to our Heavenly Father often. But probably not as much as I should. I’m trying to find my way, my purpose. At my age, I’m supposed to be set in a career and enjoying life, instead I’m stuck, I don’t know what to do with the next 30 years or so of my life. I pray daily for guidance and strength. Going through a divorce isn’t helping my train of thought.
Thank you for all the wonderful words of praise and worship.

God is so good not only does He hear every prayer, He also answers every prayer. Currently I have been praying for a friend of mine who is fighting brain cancer. Her fight started a year ago when she had the first symptoms that something was wrong. It also was just two days after her sons wedding that she experienced these symptoms. Praise God He kept her from experiencing these symptoms any sooner as it could have been much worse. Currently she is undergoing an experimental treatment. As of the last scan, praise God there is no new growth where there had been the time before. My friends testimony throughout this trial is a bright shining light shining boldly for our Lord. Please continue to pray for her healing and strength for both her and her dear husband and children.

In the spring, I was told I would not be hired back for my job in the fall. I was devastated, but still had to work a remaining 5 weeks to finish my contract. I didn’t know how I could face everyone knowing I wasn’t coming back. I prayed that The Lord would give me strength and courage to face the tough weeks ahead, and that He would equip me to handle whatever came my way with grace. He did just that. He gave me so much strength to handle the last weeks of my job. People noticed how I handled everything and I give God all the glory! Thank you Lord for your incredible strength and courage in difficult times.

I pray for my oldest son, as he gets ready to enbark on his journey of life. He leaves to college with aspirations of playing football. I pray and hope that I have shown him to cling on to God for everything. I pray that he is protected from injuries, and I pray that he reach whatever potential God wants him to reach. That he may be a good Christian man in the midst of this broken world but most of all that he never feels hopeless, defeated, or lost. Lord hear my prayer.

I have been asking for Gods peace, and he has opened doors for this to happen. He has put the right people in my life at just the right times, and given me that reminder that I am never alone. It definitely takes patience and praying without ceasing! I love thinking of him as just a text message away 🙂 Such a great thought. Like our reminder that he is always there! Always listening and ready. Thank you for this. What we can learn from our youth, hey?! 🙂 I hope you shared this with your daughter too, so she can think of God as just a “text” away too 🙂 You are wonderful.

I am a worrier. There, I said it. I should clarify, I am a recovering worrier. I am continually learning that to speak to my God and to let go of burdens daily is a truly freeing experience. I am now in the regular practice of constant conversation with the Lord and am trying to teach my husband and children this practice. Today’s devotion spoke to me, thank you so much for sharing.

Being free to converse with God anytime is so freeing! I have plenty of things I can ask of Him but I try to be sure and thank and praise Him throughout the day. I also try to keep His side of the conversation open by having Christian radio or music playing so He can use those words to speak to me along with His Words in scripture.

It’s so great having a best friend that knows our past, present and future. I’m married with 2 small children and need to keep God in his rightful place as first in my life. He will never leave or fosake me. The other day I had the strange thought of when the last time it was that my husband gave me flowers… it had been a while and I started feeling sad. When I got home from work, there were flowers on the table, but not from my husband… they were from God! I was so blessed and felt so loved that the God of the universe orchestrated giving me those flowers to show me that he is right there beside me all the time. I love the concept of never saying amen!

We moved in December for my husband’s job. Since being in the oilfield we have spent a lot of time apart. I’ve often felt like a single mom with 2 small children at home. Moving would give us a chance to be together. The moving process was difficult and we spent a lot of times on our knees. God was faithful and very clearly led us to our home. My husband is considering changing fields which would normally cause me to question whether moving was the best thing but learning to trust and God keeps reminding me hat He brought us here specifically and if He’s calling my hubby to do something else, He’ll provide.

God is continually answering my prayers every day. I always pray for traveling mercy during my hour commute to work…my husband works out of town 3 weeks at a time, driving across the US and He has protected him every mile of the way. We have been blessed with jobs and increased income that has enabled us to help our daughter and toddler grandson survive when his dad walked away from his life at age 1. He is now 4. It has been very hard but God has blessed us with the resources to help them during a difficult time. All prayers are not answered as we wish at times, however, He knows the ultimate result and knows what is best for every situation. I truly believe the difficult circumstances we endured for several years were better than what could have occurred with unbroken relationship. Again, God knows best.

  105. Patricia Ann on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 7:23 pm

OK, this is a little embarrassing, but here it is. The biggest prayer God answered for me is this. When I was 42 years old, I was introduced to, (and fell in love with) cocaine. The guy that introduced me to it later introduced me to a guy I fell in love with at first sight. Even though I was doing drugs, I begged God for Buddy for 7 years. God finally answered that prayer, and Buddy and I got together, got married, and have been together for 16 years, last month. And we are happier now than we were then, because we are now Christians. We go to church every time the doors are open, and the dear lady in charge of the Prayer Chain has now made me her Co-Captain in charge of the prayer chain. I went to church all my life, growing up, but now, can NOT get enough of the Bible, and trying my best to understand so much, including how God could not only forgive me, but truly love me. I am downloading the 7 Days of Prayer, so I can talk to Him more, and hope I will learn more.

Today God answered a prayer of my heart. I’ve been going through a very difficult season. I don’t know why or when/where the light is out of this dark tunnel. And His answer today wasn’t really what I was wanting—I wanted a plan, a solution out of the darkness. But what He answered was what I needed more—His peace, His reassurance of His love and presence. I pray that this will be enough because when there’s no end in sight of the darkness I really want Him to be more than enough.

I have prayed for a Godly friend for many years. I have been so accustomed to being let down and used. Who knew this Godly friend was right under my nose. I am so blessed to say, Our relationship with each other and God is growing. Thank you God.

We been trying to have another baby for 9 months and my doctor always said it was all very good even do i could feel there was something wrong. I have problems with imbalanced hormones and i felt it the where imbalance again but he said they weren’t. 3 weeks ago i felt so bad I just didn’t know how to move on and I made an appointment at a different doctor and I really prayed that he might be able to find what was wrong. And he did, he couldn’t believe that the other doctor hadn’t found something as imbalance as my hormones where and my thyroids weren’t working right and more problems ive been dealing now with for 4 years. So thankful we finally found it and praying further for healing.

I can’t get through any day without praying. Otherwise, my day seemingly never goes right!

People asked me all the time why my prayers are always answer.?I responded cause I believe all His promises are true. And no matter how long will take I know He will answer.I add even if I die and not see it I believe He will answer.I am all ways speaking to Him,and sometimes I asked my self did I prayed for this or just thought about.? He even answer things that I desire orany concern that it just crossed my mind.I pray every morning but I like to pray through the day for anything ,if I watching TV or anything I do I asked Him to teach me anything I need to learn from him ,when I washing dishes I don’t like to do this and v I praising for my dishes and how grateful I’m to have plates and water and praying for other people who don’t have what I have yes you right we need to pray and stayed connect with our Lord, thank you for this message.

My friend Barb and I are both trying to sale our houses. I have been praying for over two months that God would bring me the right buyers to my house. My house was under contract, but the seller couldn’t come up with the down payment so it went back on the market. Barb’s house hadn’t been getting much attention and no one seemed interested in it. We were talking on Saturday and we were both discouraged so instead of praying for my home to sell I asked God to help Barb find a buyer for her house. Barb is a cancer survivor and she needs to down size and make her life easier. She called me yesterday to tell me her house is under contract. We have a awesome God!! He hears our prayers and understands our needs. I know it won’t be long before he sends me another buyer too. Praise God.

Hi ! Praying all thru the day, remembering God at every turn…these are what God impressed on my heart from early in my life. I wondered how to remember !
Now that I am taking time to speak with Him at length at a chosen time each day, I am remembering Him throughout the day, too !
Today, I was working with my elderly friend, helping her to tidy up her room. An item was lost and she really needed it.
I said, surely by God’s prompting (He tries to speak with us all day long, too !), ” We need to pray !”
She said, “Yes !” and began praying.
In about ten minutes, the item was found in an unusual place…and in an unusual way that only the Lord could have orchestrated.
The Lord is mindful of us, and surely wants us not only to make the time – but also wants us to take the time.
It will mean giving up what we were going to do…but He is worthy of our attention. Even if it costs us some things.
God bless you as you seek His face.

I recently went through a serious bout of depression. I was at the end of my rope when I finally called out to God to please help me because I can’t do this on my own!
Two days later I found Traci Miles and Stressed- Less living website. It was an answer to my prayer.

While I am finding work extremely disappointing the last couple of day, focusing on thankfulness to be employed.

Recently spent several days with family – was asking Jesus to use me as a minister of reconciliation and it was amazing in the way He was honoring that prayer until… a comment was made about me and I chose to judge the interpretation of it through ‘my’ filters rather than asking God how He sees me. Thankfully, my husband helped walk me through it, I forgave this ‘offense’, intentional or unintentional, and God restored the ease in the relationships. Love, love, love the way He honors our prayers!

God has so graciously and recently answered prayers for my husband’s health. He is currently recovering from 4 rounds of chemotherapy for lung cancer. The cancer was discovered at one of his required checkups after having a heart transplant. He was totally asymptomatic! They said that this type of lung cancer usually is not detected until too late. The surgery was tricky, because of the scar tissue from previous surgeries, but the surgeon’s hand was guided by God, THE GREAT PHYSICIAN, and he was able to remove the entire tumor. His post-treatment scan was totally clear! PRAISE THE LORD for His goodness!
